FG icc head unit into bf

Post by VX L67 Getrag »

I’ve stumbled across a late fg colour icc & wondered if anyone has been able to install it in a bf, I vaguely remember back in the day there might have been something on carmodder about it.

The main wiring harness even plugs straight across into it, but not sure if wires are in correct location.

I started doing this back when I have my BA XR8, but was short lived after finding out the BA only has HS CAN (High Speed CAN), whereas the FG uses both HSCAN and MS CAN (Mid Speed CAN).

So is there parts of it you can use & parts to use from earlier section, could make a bit of a frankenstein box... hopefully mine being BF it may give me more options than BA?

The biggest issue is the HSCAN and MSCAN, as they run at two different speeds and the BA/BFs do not have MSCAN, it means a custom implementation is required for it.

I believe the main audio box could be made to work, but its the actual FDIM (The screen) which will have issues.
