I went a bit backwards Arduino J2534 then Elm

Does it support SW-CAN?
Sure does, this version supports:
ALDL
VPW
CANbus Highspeed
CANbus gmlan

Basically all major GM protocols.

But can understand going backwards, I went ELM, to custom tool (years ago.. too expensive) then to j2534 tools. Now finally back to a custom tool although it’s finally affordable this time.

In saying the above, my coding ability is 1000x better then when I first attempted. The general command flow was good, but the way I dealt with various situations such as incomplete commands was horrendous haha.

I always had trouble trying to force an ELM to work with GMLAN, it was sketchy. The old ground trick resulted in error codes majority of the time on official ELM firmware.
