FS: USB ALDL Interface

Post by antus »

Gareth can supply. Send a msg to order USB ALDLs.

Suitable for applications with ALDL available on pin 9 of an OBD port.

For Engine and 4L60E transmission logging, or realtime tuning on NVRAM equipped vehicles this includes:
VR to VY Commodores, except LS1 V8.

This cable is still good for limited body functionality on VY and VZ with LS1 or L98 V8 engines.

Design
The interface is the latest revision of VL400s design, which includes a genuine FTDI chip, signal filtering and regeneration.

The included USB cable includes a ferrite bead for maximum noise immunity (often required when being used near big sparks, such as boost applications or a misfiring engine).

In the kit
1x USB ALDL Cable
1x Shielded USB cable with ferrite bead.

Beware the clones
PCMHACKING.net products use only genuine components. Our ECM Comms boards use a genuine FTDI chip which works fine with the latest drivers. Clone FTDI chips are in circulation. See here for more information http://hackaday.com/2014/02/19/ft232rl-real-or-fake/

Sorry, no. Only the standard obd connector as pictured. You could install a different connector if you.have 8192baud aldl but im not aware of any applications it'd suit. This interface does not support the old 160baud protocol, as the bandwidth is too low to be useful for most people. Most would install the ecm comms interface and update the ecm software to gain 8192 baud comms via a usb connection with the older generation 808 ecm.
