Thanks mate, when you say right interface is that TP5RT? Also I think I read somewhere about turning off the BCM if going this way?

Interface, as in this board. You do also need software, TP RT. It will allow you to log and tune over the port under the steering column, but you need to wire it in. I also have some of these which just plug in .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=622

Dont need to worry about the BCM in a VR, its only VT and later that tuning can be more difficult due to the bus being taken over by heaps of other devices - dash, climate control, ABS, SRS ....

Hang on you just linked me to the same thread? So to confirm if I get a VR manual ecu have you modify for your NVRAM and fit it. Then get one of these from you I can then tune and log via the plug under the steering wheel with TPRT5?

Misread it, thought you were asking about the board that usually mounts in the PCM.

Yes, this interface + NVRAM = tuning and logging via TP using 12P.

Connected mine to my laptop running Win XP it says it can't find any drivers, will that be a problem?
I haven't tried to connect to my ecu yet as I haven't fitted my SXR board yet.
Just thought, will it still connect to ecu with the Flash Tool even with the 160 baud?

Yes it will be a problem with no drivers. In the instructions there are links to get the drivers

It also cant connect at 160baud.

HI VL400
I have a vx v6 & vr v6 to tune what is the cost on those products to do these jobs.
Sorry for all the questions always bought in a programmed chip but the cost factor is getting to
high to make something out of it.
Cheers Darren.

Would this connector work on a 99 Jackaroo with the 4jx1 engine? They have an obd2 interface with the local holden style non-compliance with the spec.
