Yeah it sure is rich cold, but all the enrichments are based of the warm values. I think you need to get a warm engine running closer, to start with turn off BLMs (and the closed loop if you want to just tune from the wideband) and then begin pulling fuel out using the VE table.

Blm and closed loop are the devil.

Re: Delco Gemini, head scratching ahoy
Hey guys, I've been having some trouble with my 4ZE1-T on Delco. It won't rev past 5k - it is as if it is hitting a rev limiter, but the limiter is set at 6.5k. It used to rev further, but since I put bigger injectors in it, it doesn't want to play the game. When we had it on the dyno it'd rev past 5k, but only if you slowly fed the throttle in; when you did a WOT run it would encounter the phantom limiter.
Any ideas?

how good is your ignition coil it may be blowing out the spark

Coil /was/ good but it's a bit of an unknown. I'll swap it out for the coil on my other car and see if that helps!vlt304 wrote:how good is your ignition coil it may be blowing out the spark
Re: Delco Gemini, head scratching ahoy
are you running big plug gaps? and check the rotor in the dizzy it may be shorting through the center to the shaft

Do a plug cut when it misbehaves. Also look at plugs beforehand.

Re: Delco Gemini, head scratching ahoy
are you running it with $12P ?
a log would help, show if soft limiter is reducing spark timing, try changing the limiter to 8000rpm or something like that and see if it revs further.
you say its only since changing the injectors ? i assume its not lean, but is it too rich ?
lots of factors, really a log would be nice and post up your bin as well and can probably diagnose more.

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Yeah, running $12P. I tried changing the limiter, but it didn't do anything for me.
First time actually looking at the tune since I had it on the dyno, geez it's a bit of a mess. Oh well, first time on a dyno and only had about 2 hours, and most of that time was trying to diagnose this damn phantom limiter! At around 0:26 in the log it 'debounces' and the wideband reads lean, so I'm guessing it's a spark issue...

Re: Delco Gemini, head scratching ahoy
ok firstly, where is your map sensor connected to ? because your going flat to the board, but the map is not ever going to 100kpa ... it tells me you either have a massive restriction in the inlet or more likely the map sensors not in a spot to see proper manifold vacuum.
also is the wideband connected to the delco ? cause its getting some awfully erratic readings!
actually there's something really weird, its going to 94 VE at 74kpa, 3400rpm, but there's no value even close to that in the VE table
what size are the injectors ?
