Ha, my original plan was just to replace the Ute tray major rust sections and that was it but that was about 40 hours ago.

I’m rebuilding a 727 torqueflite at the moment which has been a welcome distraction but got to get back into it again.

Good choice of transmission. We used to run them behind a 426 hemi and big dose of Nitro. They were as tough as hell.

Well, I've just spent two days reading this thread front to back. Great thread and info from all that have had input. I've also learnt heaps which is good as I'm about to embark on the Delco ITB's path for my FJ.
It's a bloody credit to you Heff, especially on an old Valerie farm truck. What a pisser. You can't do wrong with the 727, I ran one back in the late 70's behind a turbo 202 in an LH. Was the only thing that never crapped itself from the day I put it in. Tough as.
Keep up the good work.

They are freaking monstrous but weight equals horsepower so it’s all relative. Cheers

Thanks Mate, I feel very humble and I am just so glad my post could help someone. The truth is everyone’s input is what made such a difference.

I recently bought this 318 ELB, nothing like the Japaenese and euro stuff but still pretty cool for the time I reckon.
