I'm certainly thinking a good way to start for a beginner and then expand from there. Thanks. I'm glad I found this forum

If you use a V6 wiring loom, memcal and injectors there will be only a bit of fine trimming with the timing to get it running nicely. The reason for the V6 loom is it has the knock sensor wired in. The Camira has no knock sensor but it is a simple wiring exercise. Idle speed control can be left till last. I have a Delco on my Starion and kept the wax pellet warmup and it works fine. Too lazy to drill holes in the manifold.

You will need to change some of the base settings in the tune. With just the distributor, ignition module, coil hooked up and powered (no computer) you'll get spark at 10 degrees. The holden v6 tunes are setup for a 60 degrees reference not 10 so among other things that will need to be set to 10 degrees in the tune. But as far as the wiring goes, yes can grab everything from a JE camira or n13 pulsar. UPI hey? In SA? The JEs and Pulsars are plentiful and usually untouched there.

Thank you for the replies. Yes I can see the advantages of using either the VN V6 or the JE Camira set ups. Interesting, maybe I will also check out the V6 loom.

Upullit is great as the price is set, so it doesn't matter if you buy something that is rare it's the same price as the common stuff.

Cheers

Visited Upullit at Lonsdale today just for a look at what they had in VN's and JE Camira's and discovered that every VN I went to had the ECU pulled out and the memcal removed except for one. It must have been a new addition as not much was stripped from and the passengers foot panel was untouched it so I grabbed the ECU for $44.

I found a couple of JE Camiras and they were pretty much untouched and had the looms intact except for this. All three Camiras had these wires cut here which made me concerned, is this the wires to the ignition module or nothing important. Thanks.

Hopefully this picture works

From pics I can find it looks to be where the relays were all located

I wouldn't knock them back though there's only 3 relays efi=injector/coil. Fuel pump relay and the fan relay I think wouldn't take much to correct them just using wiring colour a wiring diagram and a multimeter and even then you'll most likley pulling it all apart to relocate shorten and lengthen it all anyway maybe able to get it real cheap seeing as it's damaged hopefully

Standard price for a loom is $66 but they would probably reduce that if damaged.
