265 Hemi to efi
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Thanks, still working on straightening up that body line.
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Hi all, finally got a decent trans for the ute. 904 Torqueflite with stage 2 shift kit and 9" converter. This has been modified and a BW35 starter motor donor section welded in. Its difficult finding any parts for the hemi 6 torqueflite combination so I ended up having to buy a 6 bolt small block flexplate to suit a 727 and had it machined down to the 904 size. It also needed an extra hole drilled because the small block 6 hole flexplate 's have one offset bolt. Luckily I had a small block starter motor lying around as the ring gear needed the larger starter motor gear. Hopefully it should be driving by next weekend.

The trans is in and its a different car. I can finally get the power to the ground and feel what power the turbo can produce. I gave it the message while idling along and when it hit the stall speed the rear tires lit up, lsd kicked in and it went fishtailing up the road. I just need to get it to a quarter mile track but not sure what is happening in Adelaide at the moment. I think people are waiting for the new strip to open up at Tailem Bend. I seen the Adelaide International Raceway have an event in October but its only 1/8th mile.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
go to the 1/8th mile man, its good enough, for me im in top gear before the end of the 1/8th and most of the acceleration is in the first half, your just steering over the rest of the 1/4
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Nice progress. It's a great felling when you can get wheelspin off the throttle instead of rev it up and dump it. 1/8 will be just as much fun as 1/4.

The next meet is not until October
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Hi all, had some problems today at the dyno. The laptop crapped itself and took out the ECM or Comms boarder or visa versa. Anyway we can’t get access to the tune and the car won’t start. Bugger.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
No it crapped itself right at the start so it didn’t even get a run on the dyno.
The tuner knows the Delcos well and tried many different ways of getting it going but it won’t run. He explained all the tests he did and a lot of it went over my head late in the afternoon but basically the Comms board is fried.
