Daewoo delco ecu 16208040 in N13 pulsar

Postby zed280 » Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:00 pm

I am thinking of redoing my engine and fitting a 2.0 Daewoo head ect on my N13 block all bolts together its all GM
I would like to run the Daewoo ecu from a doaner car that had a BCM , I want to run just the ecu to control the engine
and fast idle for AC but I am have trubble finding a pin out for the ecu , the orignal wiring ran from the engine through
the BCM then to the ECU [ the ecu uses VS conector plugs but may be like a VE ] any help

The n13 computer is the '808 and can run ose12p which is a very good tuneable system, and should do what you want. The Daewoo computer looks similar but is a very different beast. You're probably going to have no ability to modify it, and a much harder time finding any information. I'd definitely stick with the N13 computer and put 12P on it if I were you. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356

after reading this forum I also understand that using my 808 ecu will work and wanting to add the coil pack ignition as well , I am new to ecu tuning and like what I see with the Tune pro want to give it a go I have spare ecus and harness to practice on even two ecu not working one stop on the road one day and never started again another ecu all good again , need to look into the hardwear needed and have a play any pointers ?

for coil packs you need the D1927a module which was only an American release. I'd recommend you get 2 so that you have a spare, and also something to test against when trouble shooting. Ive done two of these recently, you need to manufacture a trigger wheel with the patterns shown in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=128 - its the same pattern for 4 and 6 cylinder. I have used the rear ABS sensor from a VT commodore on a custom mount to pickup the signal. I have also used jaycar microphone wire to get a shielded cable for the signal. You can get new or pulled from wrecks connectors for the 1927a, but the power connectors are not available (you might be lucky with some NOS if you look in the right place at the right time, but they are very rare). My mate who has recently done this conversion used spade terminals for the power pins. You dont need to import the coils, you can use OEM commodore coils on the module.

Was doing a check of euro delco's and there some talk of them there and how close they are to 808s
Was looking at Rock Auto then Ebay USA and it was cheeper at Ebay , till this year I am in the USA and go to the junk yards in LA and SLC my happy place
am going to contact a frend and see if he can get some from there ? with plugs and no coils
RE vr sencer would like to mount it off the cam , but not much info on this , looked at toyota mazda rx7 distrubitors ?? all use vr sencers but only 24 , how critial is the amount of bumps on the wheel
RE 808 would like to hack this one and adjust the fan setting and idle speed

Whats the context of the VR sensor question?

If you have the gear to erase and re-write the old school eprom there is an XDF with some settings covered for the stock tune, and also a copy of the file you can start having a play with here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=62&p=372#p372

You'll need to change the reference angle from 10 degrees to 60 degrees if you want to use the D1927a coilpack module.

RE VR = crank angle sensor , do not have a lot of space in this area in a N13 as have Power steering , AC and altinator , am hoping can use a n13 distrubitor , was looking at ford hall sensor from a falcon 6 , how many pulses dose the d1927a need to work ? or dose it work with a gap in pulses ?
I under stand that you sell the USB link to program the Eprom ? to add tunes ? , its first time doing eprom jobs , in past did rewire on 280zx turbos with 300zx ecu and mas air flow into 240Z all worked and worked better with the 1988 maxima ecu

you can keep the n13 distributor, but the coil packs require the pattern in the link above, which is 6x60 degree spaced notches, of 10 degrees width each, and an extra notch at 70 degrees BTDC.

I dont think you'll find that pattern to put in to a distributor. The pattern is crank, and being the distributor turns at half crank speed you'll need to repeat the pattern twice. Im not sure how you'll go in the limited space and small diameter with the pattern twice but i'd be interested to see how you go. Im not aware of anyone having attempted to build it that way.
