i normally undo most of the pan except three in one corner, then put a screw driver in the opposite corner to crack the seal and let it drain that way, and slowly loosen the other corner to get more angle, its a bit messy but not too bad.

Did some work on the heads, just some light cleanup work by hand, built a quick flowbench with a maf just to compare pots and make sure they all flow the same, got some cheap stainless steel valves so have fitted those and done an overnight water leak test, all good, the supercharger is together after new bearing and some porting work, nothing crazy, full of oil ready to go, have cleaned and ported the LIM up and installed temp sensor in the front, just have to go and get the block cleaned now and bottom end ballanced then find time to start assembly, hopefully have the cash saved up once the weather cools down a little, gave the car a wash, first in about 8 months, the clearcoat on the roof is starting to peal, not bad a guess for 22 year old paint. The rims were looking terrible the clearcoat was pealing, i cleaned them up and gave them a coat with plastidip.

Is there much difference in the shape of the new SS valves?

Valves are from ZZP, same as stock, only difference i can see is the head end of the valve is a little thicker and they are recessed or dished a little more on the face, but otherwise identical. The exhaust valves on mine weren't good, all pitted so would need grinding and i tried to get good stock ones from wrecked motors but most of them are eaten away to, for $190 for a full set of intake and exhaust valves it was much easier to get these. Ill take a photo comparing when i do the second head valves.

As for flow i was just using a Plastic ACDelco MAF to measure change and get each pot to flow the same, with the valves at max lift for the cam, they started out around 9.5 Grams / Sec and went up to around 10.6 this was just doing the work around the valve area and cleaning up casting muck.
