I feel your pain man, since doing a tune for a v6 sprintcar running on methanol I've had no end of issues with this sort of stuff, I totally overlooked the afr offset table ... imagine a commanded stoich of 6.4 being about 2.5 for the first 10-15 seconds :P

its amazing how much a small change can make.... but it looks like you've got it all sussed out now!!

also keep in mind the AE v's rpm table, if you are getting rich spike on throttle stab but only at certain rpms this might be your issue ;)

The offset being a fixed number rather than a multiplier would cause major issues when switching to alternate fuels. Something to keep in mind for LPG too if anyone is playing with that.

Thanks for the heads up on the AE vs RPM table, I haven't taken a look at that yet. I will give it a little tweak before the test run tonight! :thumbup:

Good to see an update :thumbup: Sounds like your tune is really getting there now too, that AE temp table makes a world of difference.

We will get that dash working with 12P too ;) I have 11P talking VY and VT now (they use a different data stream) so can easily do the same, its pretty much in the code as it is now - in fact could patch in a table to the ALDL segment of the current 12P and you would have it working, only issue is the variable that the ECU uses needs slightly different scaling to the dash so needs a small bit of code added to do the calc.

Another update for those following:

Sat 18th Jan 2014 was a practice day at Mallala motorsport park, and the 300ZX got's it's first track outing. I think the first thing that became obvious was that no matter how many horses you have, it ain't worth nothing if you can't stop or turn :roll:

The engine pulled hard, and the car sat perfectly on the track. But the undersized tires made cornering fun but slow and the sub-crap standard brake pads made stopping something best done sooner than later. The tires are 185's and came with the rims which were off a datto 1600. Considering the stock tire size are 205 it wasn't surprising the car wanted no part of sticking to the track. I ebay'd some 225's in Nov which were lost in transit (thank you e-go couriers) so I run with what I had. Similar with the brake pads, they were cheap stockies which came with the car when I bought it. So there were no surprises that either of those two areas let me down, but I wasn't going to let another track day pass by without me!

Best recorded lap time was 1:36.7. Im sure I did better on a session where the GPS refused to track any satalites, but that doesn't count so no more will be said on that matter!

Anyway, it was an awesome day and tonnes of fun. It was so rewarding to get the zed to the track after almost three years of work. Many thanks to Antus who was also there running his SR20DET Gemini (otherwise known as that crazy yellow gemi). Next target is the Adelaide Motorsport festival in April. Since forever I have wanted to drive the F1 circuit. All I need is a dyno day to hone the tune, some track capable brake pads, and some 225 track tires to make it a worthwhile experience...

Better get some budget approval from head office. Any ideas on how to justiify that one?

It certainly was a good day. Despite the lack of traction it proved its self reliable enough to still be running at the end of the day for the drive home and VL400s ignition module with the experimental nissan cas trigger firmware did what it was meant to :thumbup:
