OK getting back on topic :P

got the handbrake mechanism all sorted, luckily i was able to use a VN type handbrake cable, which with some suitable mounting brackets works out perfectly.

the single cable from the front is the original bedford, and it just had a female threaded shaft on the end for the adjuster screw to go into.

i then found out that the holes in the diff ends were different size on the crewman, so i pulled the steel ends off the crewman cables and drilled them out 1mm and then they fit perfectly over the VN cable ends, and that was all i needed to make it all fit!

so thats another area ticked off, aside from some adjustment of the shoes and cable.

You should register this beast under the new (yet to be finalised) modified historic vehicle scheme. 60 days a year wherever you wish to drive.

yeah but i don't want to be limited to that little amount of usage :)

i'm happy to go full rego, i'll get the use out of it to justify it! it will most likely be my weekend toy to drive around instead of the daily, we often want to go to the hardware store or dump or something like that so will be used for all that when its not race weekends away :)

I finally stopped neglecting the Bedford :)

The mirrors that were on it work ok and look ok, but they are all seized up and rusty, so I decided to get something more modern and I also wanted something reasonably compact, I didn't want a massive big truck mirror!

From the Bedford forum I have seen a few people put Nissan Patrol mirrors on and they look perfect so I followed suit!

just need to weld up the bottom hole from the original mirror and straighten out the panel as it was a bit bent from the seized mirror being twisted I assume.

very happy with the end result, bit hard to say as the moment how much you can see out of them but I'm sure they will be fine.
