CF Bedford Van
I've been wanting a bedford for a while, not as a daily driver but as a tow rig for my race car etc .... so i have been scanning forums and ebay/car sales places for a few months now trying to find the right beast for my plans, and finally at 4am this morning this took a step forward when i won this on ebay.
so its unregistered and by all accounts fairly stock and complete.
plans are to get it to a registerable state and then once its registered i'll start working on getting it converted to run a 304 and T700 i have had sitting in the shed for far too long!!
Also want to upgrade the drum brakes and fit a commodore diff of some description to get it all modernised and strong running gear etc.
might take a while before too much happens as i have to sell my VZ Ute and then finish putting a v6 back into my brothers commodore thats in the shed, but after that i'll be able to get the bedford in and start the fun

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

one word, beast
Re: Bedford CF Van
Mate had one of these come through his wrecking yard with a 253 in it real tight fit and lot of modding of the fire wall went well though

Re: Bedford CF Van
yeah i've seen quite a few different ways of doing the v8 conversion, one of my main aims is to get the motor as low as possible to minimize any floor/firewall mods required, but im not too worried either way, it should fit ok and with the stock holden 6 in it the weight is apparently 1130kg (maybe more knowing factory specs) so its gonna haul ass power to weight.... plus my 304 has ported heads and will sport a nice tow cam with suitable 98 octane compression!!
Hey Dazza, your mate wouldn't have it still there would he ? only thing mines missing is a towbar!

Re: Bedford CF Van
looks like the auto works perfectly alright when there is enough oil in it me thinks previous owner might not have known to test oil level with the motor running.
anyways, been doing a few tinkerings, got the seats bolted in and had a look at the front drum brakes, its still pulling to the left so think we'll have to remove the wheel cylinders and free them all up and see how that goes.
also has a hole in the radiator, hoping can solder that up to keep it going for the time being!
seems to work alright though for a 2.8ltr and 4.45 diff
