KE70 track car project
Been wanting to hit the track for a while and drag bores me a little. Would rather watch 1/4 or 1/8 mile than drive it. With tracks like Sandown, Winton, Phillip Island and Calder Park within reach it's just been luring me to build something that goes, turns and stops well.
Will be assembling the car in the next couple of weeks so only parts pics at this stage.
Here's a few pics of it but better way to see it would be to hit track days and actually hear this thing. Will be fun and hopefully keep up with a few of the other cars in the club
CAR: VT L67 S pac
ENGINE: L67
ENGINE MODS: Boost Obsession 50Nb turbo manifolds (Commotion), TRK Intake plenum (Muvro), Clive cams custom grind, Double row timing chain, Double valve springs/ titanium retainers, Tie bar lifters/ trend push rods, ARP mains studs fitted in car, ASR comp oil pan
INTERCOOLER: W2A
EXHAUST: Single 4" with a few mufflers, 2.5" screamer
COMPUTER: Standard on Kalmaker 3 BAR software
INTAKE: 4" alloy pipe from inside the bar into Bullseye turbo
GEARBOX: Standard T56, Mal Wood adapter kit
CLUTCH: Billet lightened NPC LS1 Flywheel and button clutch
Tail Shaft: Standard with LS1 front section for now
DIFF: 3.46:1 LSD with Harrop sports cover. Will fit a tru trac when the BW cries enough
BRAKES: Wilwood FNSL 6 pot fronts, 4 pot rears
SUSPENSION: DMS coil overs, FE2 height and everything Whiteline
WHEELS and TYRES : Not yet
INTERIOR: Stripped with just 2 front seats
POWER: Not yet
FUEL: E85

Yeah they're pretty text book hey. Damian of Boost Obsession made these ages ago for a bloke that aborted his project so I picked em up at a price worth not making my own for lol. Only thing better he could have done would be weld the gate to the turbine housing but I want to resell the turbo one day so it's fine where it is.Holden202T wrote:looks like a fun toy

TRK in Sydney who is a mate of mine had some ideas he wanted to try for the plenum and he's done well. Again mates rates stopped me from DIY even though my welds have a long way to go haha
Wanna catch that VT LS1 on here if I'm lucky so should be entertaining

Agreed. Bit bigger than I wanted it but function over form is what I like and I think it's well engineered. It's the result of many group piss up brain storming sessions haha!
It's only 3cm taller than the lid of a standard ecotec plenum but roughly double the width at the front n rear top edges at around 380mm.
It's not vacant space inside either btw

one question, why are you choosing to use kalmaker 3 bar over $12P 3 bar ?
i guess the kalmaker stuff works better with the dash and such ?

I would have though that you would have tappered the plenum down toward the rear somewhat.

A good mate of mine in aerospace did some flow modelling for it. Being a plenum, most important is pulse timing/ distance between the compressor outlet and inlet to the runner.
