Gregs Fleet

Post by psyolent »

So, I've had a VN sitting in my back shed for some years now. Its a good old bus, and, reminds me of my old one.
Its been neglected, and, well that time is over - other projects such as Hilux V8s have taken it over, its time is now :)
Originally it had a mass of kays on it and a shat V6, so that got oofed out, and, I picked up a VP V6 motor which is good, just with a million years of crud on it
So out came the oven cleaner

and then some new gaskets
Image

and then some new sensors and water inlets into the head

and at the back too

i have a set of pacemakers and the 700R4 to go on the back. My car is a VN S which is white but, i'm currently moving it to Asteroid Silver (I used to have one when I was younger, and this is sorta re-kindling that for me). I also grabbed an EPROM burner GQ4X and want to have some fun with Tunerpro and WB02 stuff because, well its interesting to me.

More pics and updates to come :)

Nice little project.

Looks like that oven cleaner has done a reasonable job :)

What's the plans for the rest of the car? Should fit a cam while you're going?

first things first buddy, get it working, get it RWC and on the road. i need to ascertain how 'well' this motor is :)

list of things i'd like to do
- respray in asteroid silver
- vt front brakes, VR/S LCA, uprights and front struts/springs. adjustable tower bearings
- remove LPG tank
- 65mm (or 70mm) throttle body
- high ratio roller rockers
- VT injectors

later on (depending on the above)
- T03/T04
- rebuild 700R4 with extra clutches, the 'beast', stronger servo, modified valve body

have to see how we go :)

i have to fix the fuel line. long story, but, in summary, its too short, and i need to 'extend' it. i have some 5/16" joiners but will do that when the motor thats in there comes out. keen on peoples suggestions too if they have better ideas...

interesting, those were the same hub caps the VP vacationer came out with factory, I know there were used on VN S too.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Yep, sure were. I think the 'HOLDEN' on the Vacationer was blue, whereas on the S it was Red.

I recommend removing the injectors and painting the metal part, otherwise next time you look at them they'll be rusty!
