fire up will be on methanol so there will be a requirement for beer to wash the fumes down

Big weekend of progress on the car to post up :)

Got the pushrods installed and tappets all done, then put the sump and side plates on, so the motor is all done other than the tappet cover.

Also added some stainless allen head bolts to the front to bling it up a bit 8-)

As I wanted to fit the battery I decided to make some progress on filling in the inner guard section I cut out of it.

Theres two bits of angle iron under the battery box, its done enough to hold the battery, I couldn't sheet it in on the bottom as I don't have any more tin left!

I also made some sections to strengthen where the harness shoulder straps mount to the roll cage.

Got the new brake line fully mounted and hard line feeding it flared and installed.

As I'm using crewman brakes on a VN diff I couldn't use the original backing plates which are cast and have the brake line as part of them so I made some brackets to hold the brake lines.

And was able to re-use the crewman brake line with a new end on it to get the gap sorted!

I also made up the battery cables from boot to engine along with the kill switch.

hopefully in the coming days I can get the passenger side brake line done and the rear brakes bled up, finish the coil wiring and then i'll be getting pretty close to slotting the motor in ....

also bought a gasket kit for the trimatic, plan is to pull it apart as it needs a new pan gasket, but I also want to check all the clutches and such just for sanity sake before it goes back in.

Still need fuel pump, thermo fan, alternator and some gauge wiring sorted but I can see the light for the first start :punk:
