Only time I've seen interference was from snapped timing chains due to blokes setting them up wrong lol.

Even with the wildest cams the nearest PTV point is usually still at least 0.280" but always pays to check of course

similar to s1 v6? as ive broken timing chain before and never had any issues with the valves smashing up the pistons, i assume the eco is the same and not such a big deal if the timing gear has any issues,
i wont be running a dual row chain, dont want to remove ballance shaft or fuck around clearnacing it all, i have enough work to do now,

the pricks fro aliexpress now inform me that the manifold is out of stock
fuck my life lol

They are def an interference engine. Buick and ecotec.

Double row chain is easy. Just need a machined oil pump and the timing set and its done. For ecotec you just leave the balance shaft in and remove the driven gear and that way it stops the oil loss at the rear shaft bearing. On Buick its the same machined cover but you throw away the shaft entirely as they run ball and needles bearings and there is no oil feed.

Let us know how swapping the top goes. Looks doable.

What plans did you have for the fuel system? Are you just going to run the standard fuel pump and filter? Or intending to replace it? I don’t know what higher flow in-tank pumps are available for these.

I still run the standard pump but I’m considering fitting an external fuel filter at the moment.

im currently running a stock pump
i have external filter i did have a proflow e85 pump in it but being china it died and i put a new stock GM one in it, seems to keep up no worries for flow with the 660cc inj and 12psi pulley will see how it goes, if it dosnt keep up ill put a 044 or something bigger inline

just started new job, lots of overtime! no time for the car which is disappointing, will get there with it though. definitely keep the post up to date with the progress just not going to be as quick as i hoped,

Oh regarding that manifold. Can't give too much away yet but they do offer better than aussie manifold performance at peak as far as I can tell.

..... and torque, well lol.

You might need new jocks after you find out about that.
