I'd be surprised if the sensor is better than +-2% accurate, but that is way more than accurate enough for what I need it for. Its slightly overkill to lab test this grade of sensor.

you can buy pretty cheap ethanol % testers, ebay ethanol fuel tester
they will give you an idea of what the fuel is before you go putting it in the car as a comparison .. the holley/quick fuel ones have pretty large graduations between 70-100%

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Looks great. Love the way the PWM pump controller fits in the fuse/relay box, and the custom plug you've made to connect it to the relay mount.

Re: Toyota Powered VL Calais
Started getting some weird noises from the bell housing area and suspected the torque converter, so had the fun job of doing this using socket extensions from pretty much the diff over the top of the gearbox ...
But got some bigger injectors from the1 and installed them. They are the 12 hole UC style injector, 3/4 length. Just needed 14mm to 11mm adapters and some 2mm shims in the factory mounting, then swap the loom connectors over to the later style these use. They should be around 800cc at 3bar.
Compared to the factory 1UZ style (this crusty unit is a 315cc from a 7MGE)... Pulled things to bits... And new HP adders installed...
Now to go and break the gearbox
Swapped to a spare converter, put it all back together and the noise is still there so looks like maybe the pump in the gbox? Not sure, so unless it gets really bad really quickly gonna drive until something gets chomped up to know what it was

VL400 - does the torque convertor have a spigot bush in the back of the crank for it to seat correctly?

No bush, just machined crank that the converter fits in to.psyolent wrote:VL400 - does the torque convertor have a spigot bush in the back of the crank for it to seat correctly?
They fit really well, just needed the manifold side o-ring retainer removed so the factory 1UZ large o-ring could fit.The1 wrote:Good to see they fit up, keen to see how they go in your setup
For a first start with just the cranking PW tables, kinjflow and opening values setup idle quality was very nice with 1ms fuel pulse for a AFR that was only about 0.3 richer than target. Transient fueling needs work, AE drowns it! They sound different to the stock injectors too, more of a solid thump than light ticking.
