daewoo s20sed

Post by uzu21 »

Hi Greg here
I am building a under 2 litre sports sedan and looking at running a daewoo s20sed dohc 16v. Right now you are laughing at me i can tell DAEWOO race engine  But it is based on the pommy opel engine which allows cams, forged pistons ect basicly any go hard bits i could ever want. I have already experimented with the n13 pulsar delco running a isuzu twin cam that was running a rb gemini dizzy signaling the nissan module. That at a later date antus was able to tune for us late last year.
The question i have is will the CAS from the daewoo/vectra ecotech be able to signal the delco and fire 4 coil packs as this engine has no dizzy and how do i do it.

It will depend on what CAS and module is on there now. There are 4 cyl DIS modules available that are compatible with the delco '808 ECU but require a specific cas trigger pattern, there is some info here .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=128

These are the early style and I suspect the Daewoo will be using a different setup that wont be compatible. Opel used a 60-2 trigger on later models, wiring diagram here to compare with what you have .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... 795#p28642

Hi Greg, Welcome aboard! The details VL400 has linked above are correct - thats the trigger and coilpacks you would have seen (or at least heard about) that gav is running on his Bellett GT. Its the D1927A module if you search for it on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=D1927A , they wernt released locally so you'll need to import from the states (not too expensive). You can just drop 2 commodore coils on the module and run wasted spark 4 cyl configuration. Of the 3 connectors 1 is power (and the connector is not available AFAIK, you need to use spade connectors or similar on to the pins and rig something up to make it solid), the 4 pin in the center is the same as whats on the distributor ignition modules so thats easy, and the trigger 3 pin is the same as the MAT sensor so you can get a connector from another loom and I think I cut one of the keyways off so it fits in and locks on.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396
