Holden (I don't think so) AH Astra fault Code B3601

Post by Charlescrown »

Hope some of the Holden fellas can help. I scanned a Astra the other day and it came up with code B3601 and said "key capture relay circuit malfunction". I searched Dr Google and found very little. The car has never had a problem starting. Any help will be much appreciated.

From what I understand that relay is an internal part of the 'steering column module', have changed plenty of them for other faults, never seen that one...

Thanks for the info. It does also say CIM steering column module. Just what does the module do? and I believe it's located under the steering column cover.

It acts kind of like a BCM that we are used to seeing in commodores, Immobiliser, wipers, head lights, turn signals etc..

The best bit is its vin coded  , unless you have a pass through and tis access you will have to replace this with a 'security set' from a wrecker (must be the exact spec vehicle to do this).

Yes, its under the column covers, the stalks are part of it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Biggvl you have convinced me not to venture any further with it. It has no noticeable issues with anything so I assume he won't do anything about it till something goes wrong.
