16190674 Daewoo ECM

Post by VL400 »

Picked this one up this morning. While its from an aussie delivered 1996 Daewoo Cielo its not really the run of the mill ECM found around here and seem more common in Europe. It has no memcal or flash memory so looks like the processor that GM used is a variant with internal memory - hence the pads around the processor. I am yet to fire it up on the bench but will do when i work out the pinouts. It uses the same plugs as an '808 and some wires look like they are the same function as an '808 but are a different colour to the GMH wiring.

The code base for this ECM is BSKN. If anyone has some info about this ECM please post it here

I have lots similar ecus but have not played with them, here, it seems none with the black plug has external eprom or immobilizer function. I'm sort of a noob youd need to be more specific, I have some wiring diagrams/pin outs for possibly the same but I dont know where you guys get the numbers eg '808' from or 0$2 etc. Here as a general rule the purple plug, blue plug and longer type casing with red and white plug have the 27c256 'blue'.

I recently looked at a number of different Daewoo ECU's at the wreckers. Some of them had removable eproms, others did not.
Looking at the wiring diagram's, particularly the models using the family 2 (camira style) engine, they are almost pin for pin the same as an 808.
None of the models I looked at appeared to support knock control.
I did not bother progressing with them due to other priorities, but I will see if I still have the wiring diagrams floating around somewhere.

Obviously, the firmware is located in the processor and have it read. I have the original bin file. If necessary, I can lay out.

I got a similar unit today, mixed up with some 808s.
Mine's a 16204739 / D95014 BPDD - apparently from a '95-96 Opel Corsa B 1.2 which would be a Holden Barina here right?
This one has an immobiliser (serial eeprom) but otherwise looks the same as VL400's.
If I can find a wiring diagram I'll see if I can get it talking...

I'm guessing the immobiliser codes are in here:

16204739 looks like it is for the C12NZ (1.2 Litre Barina and Combo 1994-7), these had an Octane plug for 91/95RON in the engine bay, so probably have 2 spark maps.
Quick look has wiring similar to 808, with exception that Octane plug goes to C12 which is the MAT sensor on an 808 and the immobiliser coming in on A10 which is VSS on an 808.

Thanks for that, I'll fire it up when I get some free time and see if I can get the bin out.

No casting any judgment but can I ask why the interest? Just expanding knowledge or looking for a particular feature
Or a replacement 808 as I assume they will run out or all die one day.
