hsv security

Post by Mahse »

hi all.
my s2 r8 clubby has shit it's last key. got a new one coded but car won't accept due to no old key working.
now I know on the hsv models that the pcm is coded to the bcm as key is.
my question is, does the hsv bcm have a. 'pcm chatter' flag like the bcm chatter?
I,e, can I use a normal holden bcm and key and a non coded pcm?

regards

I have spent lots of time working this one out - take it to a dealer, don't waste your time, your HSV is fitted with ESS

Not going to post the reasons, im not into supporting car theft...

99 s2 r8 clubsport. vt.
from what I can gather I need a red key and a tech 2 .
and taking it 700km to the nearest dealer isn't an option.

I'm not asking u to explain the ins ans outs of ess,

from what I can gather my options are

1.find someone wrecking a ls1 auto hsv vt-vx and get the matching pcm, bcm and key.
it makes it hard when retarded 'Hsv' wreckers dont even realise that all 3 are a set and sell the bcm and key to a fuckwit for their shitter

2 reloom the body with a non ess loom, and use an uncoded pcm and a matching bcm and key.

3. spend my yearly car budget on a tow

Otherway round.. is to contact HSV with proof of vehicle ownership and they will tell you the required procedure specific to your vehicle to enable learning mode to have programmed in new modules, keys ect...

No hack jobs required or pulling dash apart... just doing it the way its meant to be done.
