Would be hard to tell but you could get a rocker in a position where it's just opening/closing and see how much the crank needs to rotate back and forth before the rocker starts moving. Ideally you want to remove the LIM and just rock the balance shaft, much easier to see.

I guess also it might depend on how sensitive ones "feel" is to the movements. Like a good or a bad safe cracker...immortality wrote:That would only really work with all the push rods removed otherwise the load from the valve springs will hold the cam somewhat.
