My old FB Ute V6 Project

Post by Holden202T »

Thought I'd post this up for anyone that's interested.

This car originally was dads, I bought it as a rolling shell, did all the v6 conversion stuff and had it to a point of driving under its own steam, then found drag racing and lost interest, I had planned to keep it and one day maybe finish it (ie. 10 years or more) then dad said he was starting to look for another project car so I sold it back to him. this worked well for me because I didn't want it going to someone I didn't know, this way when its on the road i'll get to see it and have a drive :)

since then he has been tidying up all my work and more so finishing it :P a lot of stuff was done, like steering was roughly done but not finished filling up holes in the floor, and similar with engine mounts they were made but only tack welded in ....

dad also changed the fuel tank to use the commodore one in the below pictures and removed the twin piston brake kit and fitted the brakes you see on it now.

anyways for anyone interested in the v6 conversion and/or remember reading about it when I had it and wanting to see current progress, here it is :)

funny that, my old man is much the same. Very good eye for detail (although he isn't into cars as such).

well yes for cool factor, but it wont tow as much as the Bedford can, and also its no different to the VZ Ute I used to tow with, the van is the winner with its lockable and liveable rear area :)
