Good point. Ive dropped a couple in the bin file area here:

I've been chucking together a start point for an xdf & will post up later for being picked apart!
I'm not sure how to work out the calcs, but can sort that out later!

O.K. so the 12612381 seems the most common for the early E38's so thats what I started with & here it goes...
Obviously it all makes no point without being able to fix ALL the checksums after changes are made & then being able to read/write the .bin file.
ALL the checksum changes look a lot like what I was seeing with the E55 files!

All checksums have been sortedVX L67 Getrag wrote:O.K. so the 12612381 seems the most common for the early E38's so thats what I started with & here it goes...

Changes can be made in bin and checksum can be recalculated correctly. Its all down to identifying each parameter for each OSID.

A bit of help identifying the parametres would be handy, I believe & think there must be some cryptic info out there for them!
Re: CRC's..Checksums.. Reverse Engineering!
Would be nice if the bins had a simple index outlining each parameter, its location ect. But something like that would probably only be seen /understandable after identifying the chip on board then disassembling the bins and flowing the routines. Might even be lucky enough to find an emulatorVX L67 Getrag wrote:A bit of help identifying the parametres would be handy, I believe & think there must be some cryptic info out there for them!

Re: CRC's..Checksums.. Reverse Engineering!
I have pulled the cover off 1 recently & no such luck with seeing what chip it has, it's only the back of the PCB thats visible & that is secured in SUPER strong to the metal cover, so there's no real chance of seeing whats on the board.

Looky here....... http://www.355nation.net/forum/tuning/6 ... elphi.html. Even has some disassembled code and tuned bin files.
