If you search the ram of the ecu you find vin, immo code minus last 4 bytes and "OPEL"

Sorry to dig up an older thread, but do you guys by chance have a PIM dump from an L76/L98 equipped VZ?

I'm looking to reconfigure a PIM to turn on the crank input pin (pin 11 iirc). My US-spec Snap-on scanner does not support configuration changes and I haven't been able to change it with my MDI yet...

I have been able to flip a LS2 Manual PIM to and LS2 Auto with the MDI. More things changed then what I expecting... I do think the engine/trans config is 0x42 and 0x45 but I do not know the combo for L76/Manual. The PIM also didn't like me changing one bit at a time there.

In case it helps anyone, here are the flash reads from the PIM when changing from manual to auto.

LS2 Manual Read:

You could try installing the Holden card in Tech2win and going thru that way

Unfortunately I have tired that with V142 and V157 bins. Both will stop me with a "TIS approval missing" message. I have also tried GM Tech Connect, under SPS, with no success. Maybe I'm missing something...

EDIT: Figured it out... I had to install GlobalTIS and get security access... This is my first time dealing with the security access fun...

If you dont need the subscription you can use the old TIS2000 to also do security.

hey guys just looking for a bit of info on these pims. i want to try and get a pim paired to an e38 ecu for use of the cruise control functions i dont have any tools for normal programming of the pim but i can read the eeprom on the pim. if i set the vin and security code in the pim to suit the ecu will that work or can i reset the pim so it will link straight away if i find some one with the correct tools sorry if this has been answered further back in this post but it got a bit over my head.

Hi Mate,
Did you ever get this sorted?
I've attached a read from my VZ SS L98 Auto Crewman E38 which has the crank input signal.
I've also attached a V6 Cross Auto 1 Tonne ute PIM and there's a few differences.
Lastly I've attached another one that I bought on it's own from a wrecker and was told it came from an L98 crewman but I don't know if it was auto or manual, as this car was wrecked I haven't blanked the codes.

Yes I did! Thanks!

I setup GlobalTIS on my computer and was able to get the security access I needed with the Holden Tech2 card.
