Help with burning to an SST27SF512
Hi Guys , a little while since i have been on here.
Just tuned a VN V8 with RT $12p and wish to save file and burn to an SSTSF512 chip.
I cannot for the life of me remember the steps of how to save the file and then offsets to burn.
Using a Willum GQ USB Programmer.
Thanks guys.

Use the flash tool here http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82 to read a bin from the car. This will be a complete image you can burn to the chip. 12P is 32kb, and your eeprom is 512k bits so divide by 8 = 64kbyte size. Therefor you need an offset of 32kb to burn it to the top half of the chip. In some chip burning apps offsets dont work, in this case you can use tunerpros 'stack' function to join 2 copies of the tune. The bottom copy just pads out the first 32kb and the second copy ends up on the chip in the right spot and is used by the car. Burn a 64kb file with no offset.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Re: Help with burning to an SST27SF512
Hi Antus , thanks.
I have used OSE Flash tool to save the bin file and attempted to burn with offset 008000 this however has not worked??
Never used the TP stack , not sure how you use it as I have always burnt with an offset.
Just not sure what I am doing wrong today?
Thanks.

Stacking in tuner pro is the go. Then burn with zero offset.

Good write up here. I burn this way to SST512 EEPROMs at home and works well.

Hi Ant , sorry but still having issues here.
I must be having a blond moment/ day as I cannot find information or thread about saving an $12P RTT file from NVRAM and burning to an SST27SF512.
Could you point me in the right direction or give me a quick call this morning to help me sort this out.
Thank you.

Did you use flashtool to get bin and save it?

ok in the OSE flashtool, connect to the car, then select the "get bin" button, this will download for about 45 seconds then it will ask you to save a file, save the file wherever you want with a meaningful name.
then load up tunerpro, in the tools menu select the "bin stacker/splitter"
set it up as per below for 512kb SST chip
or for 1024kb NVRAM use the below.
this should then output a file to the desired location that is either 64kb, or 128kb depending on the option you selected above....
then load it in eprom programmer and burn with zero offset

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Hi Holden202T , tried stacking as suggested and still runs in limp mode???
This was originally tuned with a Dallas DS1245Y NVRAM board.
I have done this operation 10's of times in the past and burnt with offset and no problems.
Not sure what has gone wrong this time.

Re: Help with burning to an SST27SF512
can ypu post up the bin you downloaded from the car and also the stacked one ? there might be an issue there ....
also if you can read back the one off the SST and compare it to see if somethings going dodgy somewhere along the line.

Hi Holden202T , here they are.
I have saved with Flash tool several times and this is the last file copy that I have saved, plus the stacked file.
Thank you.
