It's a pretty quick process the other way. And if there was a change in addres on the new version something might be way out.

Thanks Antus. I downloaded the bin and cal file with the flashtool but I am not familiar with how to then fit it into a later version of 12P but now I have one I can use that as my template. You might like to add my BIN file to the list of available 12P bins. It for a 2L turbo with VT supercharged injectors. It's a good start but still needs a little trimming.

the flashtool has an option to 'migrate a cal file' it will convert it to the new address points of the later bin, then you can open the new converted cal in tunerpro and copy the differences into a bin. or do what I assume festy did and merge the cal into a bin with a hex editor.

I think migrate cal also works on bins, just pick a bin when it asks for cal?

I was planning on merging it with a stock 112 bin using dd - similar to using a hex editor.

But at the time when I saw Charlescrown's reply, I was in the garage with my laptop already connected to my Alfa's ECU so I just fired up the flash tool to back up my ECU's cal and uploaded the new one, then downloaded the new complete bin and posted it while I re-wrote my original cal back to the ECU.
It seemed like the simplest method given the circumstances, no thinking involved :D

In general its not good to mis-match bins and cals. offsets and features did change between some versions and the migrate cal shuffles offsets as required depending on source and target versions, and updates the version number stamp in the cal segment.
