12P tune update to E85 and bigger injectors
12P tune update to E85 and bigger injectors
Hi all,
Im looking for a bit of help adjusting the tune for Kermit (the green V6 Gemini), we have fitted a plastic tank, E85 capable bigger lines, etc..
I have bosch 0280155931 injectors to fit.
Im looking for help in making the correct adjustments to make this in the ballpark, I'll finish it on the dyno.
This tune was pretty spot on with premium fuel, and has been raced many times like this.
These type of adjustment are still a little over my head, my intention is, if any one will help, is to 'use bin compare' to see the changes so as I can learn from them.
Any help appreciated

Re: 12P tune update to E85 and bigger injectors
So thinking the 12p tune is set for 19.92Lb injectors & the 931's are 26.72?
Setting it right for E85 you need to allow 1.5 extra fuel, the 26.72 will actually be smaller then need if you were close to limit with the original stated injectors above?
So in theory you could actually just fudge the original injector rate a fraction & will bring it into line automagically?
or if you want to do it properly you can adjust to the correct injector rate for replacement injectors & then divide all the AFR & Injector tables by 1.5?

Re: 12P tune update to E85 and bigger injectors
I have a 12P E85 for stock V6 already done throughout.
That would be then just copy over the VE and spark tables and adjusting the injector data to suit new injectors.
Why not use the Ford injectors like in the VH? since we have that data also.

Sounds like the go to me just lut your injector data and BPC. VE and spark to as mentioned. The 26lb do sound possibly to small as mentioned for E85.
Re: 12P tune update to E85 and bigger injectors
Hmmm, those injectors mentioned above where going to be used in the VH speedway car for E85 but where changed to Ford type on suggestion. Pretty sure the gemini has blue tops?

Blue top is 28lb. Probably a calculator somewhere to help maybe?

What was the max DC on petrol? There might be room on 28 lb. There literally was just room on stock v6 with stock 19 lb on E85

if it's any help mine is stock ecotec, with 1.95 rockers, intake and exhaust and was getting to 60% DC on E85 @ 5800rpm. Using those Ford FoMoco AL3E-F7A Injectors @ 3.5bar
