LS1 Boost OS - Development
Re: LS1 Boost OS - Development
Count me among the folks that are very excited about this project. At the moment, I'm running a
Pontiac 455 and a 4L80E using a 12200411 PCM and OS 12212156. The 455 has been fitted with
a 24x crank setup on the balancer and a 1x stub-shaft where the HEI once lived. I'm using code
from a 2002 2WD van w/ a LQ4, 4L80E and DBC as the basis of this setup. Its been running this way
for a few years now, and I'm very happy with the results.
I'll be adding a supercharger to the setup this spring, and see this as a nice opportunity to migrate
to a P59 PCM. I've got a stack of them in the garage, including a few of the 12586243's that are
needed to maintain my DBC setup. Seems like a great time to migrate to OS 12587603.
Great seeing support for the factory PCMs - I'm a fan of OEM engineering and reliability. Thanks to
bubba and everyone else involved in this project.

Hiya Bubba,
A bud of mine just bought a TT kit for his 65 Impala LS swap. I will start with the p01 DBC and see how it goes. I'm pretty excited to try your stuff, it will be a few months before everything is ready to play

Why P01 and not P59 ??In-Tech wrote:Hiya Bubba,

More room to grow with a P59.

Hiya Gampy,
I will probably end up there. I'd like to start at the beginning and grow from there, he's already p01 and I know it's not a difficult upgrade and I have plenty of p59's. It's just me learning as I go

Took a lot longer than expected to try this out, but it works just as expected! I cant test this ffs as I have an auto though. Awesome job bubba!! Can't wait to see what you're cooking up next

Re: LS1 Boost OS - Development
bubba2533 do you think this will work on the 7603 V6 OS?
What do I need to get a copy of the current version?

SendNSFW wrote: The PCM Logger app does 12 bytes at 10hz right now, so I'm curious as to how EFI Live is getting 24. I'm told there's a way to get the PCM to send data without requesting each new row of data, and I've experimented with it a little bit, but I haven't figured out how to make that work yet. Right now the app send a request, the PCM responds with a row, and that cycle repeats. If the app could send a "start streaming" request and just read row after row of data, I'm sure that would speed things up.

Re: LS1 Boost OS - Development
Still tuning my truck, but so far running very well. Haven't really pushed it yet bc I'm nervous of the boost spark. I live at high elevation, baro kPa of 79 at key on. I know of the offsets to account for this, but just want some reassurance. Will it look at anything over my key on baro as boost? Can I just fill in the boost spark table to account for everything over key on baro, or do I need to take it into account in the main spark tables for between 80-105 kPa?
Re: LS1 Boost OS - Development
The boost spark table is MAP and not boost pressure.
So you’ll need to account for it in the main table. Although that is a very small amount of boost so I don’t really think it would matter. You might have to worry about it if you go to sea level.
