and Gampy, I had tried a number of times to load the 7603 bin/os. but after loading, the truck wont start. a few people had disabled the VATS. Hell, even i did since i do have the xdf for it. but ever time, truck would not start after, but has no problem when i reload the original. I did pick up another P59 at the salvage yard. So i may attempt the 7603 on that one. Who the F knows. it just might work.

So hey, i dont care if it takes me a week and a half. hell, I'd be ok with 3. i just need a freakin XDF. And If i can figure out building a XDF, I want to learn to edit the XDF. I saw how on guy in here adapted an ls PCM for a 2 cyl 750 motorcycle. I have an 84 Goldwing which would be the witches titties if i got fuel injection on it.

Yes, I may be a dreamer, but my hearts of gold. I love helping people.

but... i cant climb this wall. i'm a youngish guy. somewhat tech savy. but this is kickin my Donkey.
I get it, have at it ... I've given you the keys, you just need to figure out how to unlock the knowledge!
Let me know when you do, I could use some of it ... :P

Universal Patcher will generate an xdf for you, I don't know how well, I've never used one.

Nothing wrong with dreaming!

The first time I broke 100mph was on a Goldwing ... Back in the 70's

In answer to your last three posts ...

12587603 should work beautiful for you!

I don't remember what cable you're using, IIRC you use LSDroid not PCMHammer, obviously I would prefer you to use PCMHammer for obvious reasons ... Not to dis LSDroid.
[edit] OBDLink LX ... Blue Tooth.

S10 vs. Silverado ... Not much as far as the PCM is concerned, just the calibration ... I'm pretty sure they both use osid 12587603 at one point or another.

I will always help any way I can.

[edit]
What are the Hardware ID numbers on your PCM's, both preferably, most importantly the one in your truck ... "HDW NO." on the sticker.

All of what gampy said is true. This is getting off topic from checksums, but I think the first thing you need to do is confirm why the edited 7603 is not working for you. You need to be able to pull codes or logs from the car and see if it really is a checksum problem. I suspect it is not. You were also having problems with vats (anti-theft) from memory or suspected it. Or it could be something else entirely.

Hi all;

The biggest difference would be the OS used. I have a friend that has a 2004 GMC Sonoma that uses the 9404 OS.
I am pretty sure the 2006 full-size truck will be using the 7811 OS (I have a friend with a 2006 Silverado 2500 6.0l that has that OS)

As for the actual Engine, they SHOULD be the same! Minor tune changes due to a freer flowing intake tract.

Specifically speaking of Os 12587603 from a S10, replacing Os 12587811 on his Silverado.

Every time he writes OS 12587603, his truck will not run, so he goes back to 12587811 ... There is no XDF for 12587811.
