Will I be able to over write that memcal I received recently?

Cheers Delcowizzid.

What will I need to be writing to a chip again. I've lost track of what I'd need to purchase.

Cheers

ecm nvram are in short supply but should be some more hopefully in the next few weeks. it'd be worth just reading the tune to see what is without looking in to writing it back yet. You may be able to write something to the chip you have, but it depends on the type of chip. there are many options, you'll need to peel back the label to see what it is. you'll need to buy or source a programmer, and you'll need to know what you want to put on it. ecm nvram is to do real time tuning and build your own tune.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Hi Team

Been away for the long weekend, sorry for the late reply.
I appreciate the input from you all.

I'm going to try and read the tune shortly, and if I remember correctly, i will use the ose flash tool to read it.
Hopefully I can with out to much hassle. To read the tune inside the VR at the moment, where it says what type of vehicle, do i have to put "VR" in this column?

Ok so ECM Nvram can do real time tuning. What does PCM Nvram get used for?

Edit: i found this - Pcm Nvram is for VS
Ecm Nvram is for VR

cheers
Pete

OK it looks like you have clicked connect to ECU. Then all you do is click get bin. Once downloaded just give it a name and save it.
If your making changes and tuning you can just download get cal which is just the calibration side of the bin file.
