CKUL Ecotec tuning AE/PE help :D
Hey guys, ive been introduced to tuning about a year ago and i have been learning heaps along the track thanks to you guys.
Im using the1 enhanced bins v1.4a
Im currently trying to tune my AFR's on my ecotec with L67 injectors. If im at a stand still and plant it ive got a consistent 12.9-13.1 AFR.
as soon as i perform a detent where i go into first it just richens up and stays at 12.1-12.2. I can feel the car bog down a little when this happens too. This also happens when i go 100% throttle into second gear too, although not noticable unless i stomp the throttle. Apart from that the AFR's im pretty happy with as well as lean cruise. Not sure how to combat this enrichment. Any ideas will be appreciated. cheers in advance.

so are you saying that stand still with the stick in first gear then plant it is when its going rich, but when in drive and doing the same thing its not doing it ?

Sorry, my mistake. At a standstill, in drive, i can plant it off the line and the AFR's are good. Is there a way you can show on the monitors or data dash when AE is active? Will help with situations like this to figure out what is putting in the extra fuel.

If it was only the AE I would expect it to go rich but then lean out back to the regular PE target AFR as the AE decays. My understanding is AE is there to cover large throttle movements to prevent flat spots before the changes in MAF (or MAP depending on tune) has time to catch up. If it's staying rich it may have to do with the PE settings. Have you used the PE calculation spread sheet to see what your setting are?hoosedamoose wrote:Sorry, my mistake. Hi guys, thanks for the reply.
I am not aware of a PE spreadsheet. It appears that i may have to adjust the settings. Which attributes should i be editing? ive tried searching on here, havent found much information on the extended bins. Mostly $12p stuff.
Also i was told, as its a Naturally Aspirated car i should be aiming for 12.5 -13.0. Although anything under 12.5 seems to lack performance.

For N/A 12.8:1 AFR is ideal for PE.

edit: looking at the spread sheet, it commands 12.05 AFR above 3200rpm. I'd change the Power Enrichment trim Vs RPM table. I'd zero out 3200rpm, 4000rpm and 4800rpm and put 2 in 5600rpm and 6400rpm so it wants to go a little rich as you approach max rpm to keep it safe for now.
