This is the cable and setup I am using. This is a screen shot also of when I try connect it asks for Bluetooth but I am not using Bluetooth and don't have anything paired Bluetooth wise. It just sits there saying connecting in top left corner

The app is not detecting your cable because it would uses USB before Bluetooth if available. Either the cable is not using an FTDI USB chip or your Android device doesn't support USB host mode most likely.

Phone is huwaei p30
Around 2 years old and I had it working last year around 6 months ago
Unless some update on my phone has done something and made it stop working

huwaei p30 does support USB host mode. You can try plugging it that card reader in and see if your phone detects it indeed. When you connect your USB cable, Android should ask if you want to open ALDLdroid. If it doesn't, either your phone isn't detecting the cable or the cable isn't FTDI. If it was detected before, more than likely your cable is an FTDI one so somehow USB host mode got broken on your phone. If you have another Android device you can try on, that would be interesting to see what would happen too.

I found this app on my phone but I might have another Android tablet to try aldl droid on. If that don't work then maybe my cable is faulty so I might buy that small adaptor from jaycar.
Thanks for your help so far guys

The cable can be even just a printer cable if you have another laying around

You'll need the adapter still. I've had a few cables fail over the years but not really the adapters. Hopefully you'll get tuning again soon it's an amazing app
