Injector size for Holden 355

Post by JBalsar »

Hi All,
I have stroked a VT304 & currently using the std 5.0ltr injectors. At 4100rpm its running at 81% duty cycle & at 6000rpm its running at 93%.
Would the std 5.7Ltr blue top injectors work? I'm also still running the std fuel pump & reg.
Thanks

They would work but the question you really need to answer is how much horsepower is the engine capable of making . Then size your injectors and fuel system to suit and trying to keep them under 80% duty cycle at full throttle and max revs.

I gave it one pull on a dyno & it only made 290rwhp at 5800rpm when the limiter cut in and it was still climbing. Since then I've brought the rt tuning gear and have been having a play. I've up the limiter to 6300rpm and has made a big difference. just need to buy a dyno I recon.

I run a set of The1 flow matched white giants or the L67 Bosch injectors in my 355ci. It's super happy and idles like a champ with big cam. These would be more than enough for your motor I would say, unless it's a total animal.

I agree with Max. I'd be going for something bigger with those numbers just to be on the safe side. Standard injectors are 19 pound, Blue tops are 24 pound, L67 are 36 pound. I don't think you will have enough room to move if you keep gaining power with blue tops.

Thanks Guys,
I'll try & chase a set down.
Do you have a P/N for the l67 injectors?
Do I have to do any mods to the injector to fit the STD fuel rail? I've been told you may have to cut a slit with an hacksaw blade for the retaining clip.
Can someone also point me in the right direction on what parameters I need to change?
Thanks
JB
