ECOTEC v6 on 808 ecu

Post by robkeith »

hi,

having an issue with my ecotec with the 808 ecu with 12p tune

when engine is cold runs like a rocket but when at op temp losses a very noticable amount of power

its as if a sensor is changing parameters etc, occasionally misfiring under load, generally feels as though mixture is wrong or timing is retarded??

so far the following has been changed with no benefit

plugs and leads
dfi
coils
temp sensor
O2 sensor
CAS

regards

Post a log up with some wideband readings.
Totally different engine to the older V6's.
For speedway is it?

You'll get CEL for sure, no data though unless it's a modified 808.

what do you mean "stock ecotec converted to the 808 memcal"? What did you change/install on what?

stock tune from Sam holden202T

aldl plug does not have 12V input from oil pressure switch and does not drop back to ~ 0V CEL light circuit

hence no CEL light indication (globe checks out as OK)

am going to rig up an additional light directly to the aldl plug and see what i get when i short out the two pins

So your providing 12v to the light and the trying to ground it to pin a5 or using the globe to bridge through the aldl plug and get it to flash?

hi, there is an alternate 12v switched (i think) supply on the plug as well (lower left hand side)

Yes i will connect the light to the plug 12V pin 'H' (pink black) and also connect to the output wire pin 'E' (brown white) then when shorting out pins "a" & 'B'

If i am correct this should give me the output light flash codes

the tec 2 instrument has been tried but although connects to the computer also cant download codes (have triad an alternate ecu as well?

unfortunately severely tore my calf muscle yesterday and am not really mobile at present to do much investigation
