E85 L67 fuel economy

Post by dusto »

ok so got the ute going pretty well got the AFR with in 3% of commanded generally
also got my dash working all properly with the trip computer, wish i didnt this thing suck the juice, im getting around 23l/100 if i baby it and if i give it a bit of a squirt yo can just about watch the gauge go down, im aiming for 7.8 WOT im running the "12psi" pulley,

does this seem about normal ? ive got a tonner and its about a 60l fill from empty so its a real pain in the arse

E85 will be about 30% more than PULP. If your wideband is reading "AFR" this will be tuned for PULP, so tune it for 11.8 same as you would for PULP but it will really be 7.8 for E85. If you want to use reading that matches then you need a gauge that works on Lambda

Your cruise air/fuel ratio should be 9.8 for stoich. I think your running way too lean.

yep, that's for sure. For lean cruise you want to be around 10-10.5, stoich as mentioned above 9.8
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

ok I've attached a log and my bin with the xdf that i have my wbo2 cal set for e85 AFRs
WBO2 is a innovate lc-1. in the bin i have changed all commanded AFR to suit the e85,

i like how the car is performing but this fuel situation is a bit crazy, i suspect my ute is a few hundred kilo heavier then a standard tonner due to a heavy duty steel tray a previous owner thought would be good. just normal city driving i get about 27l/100 and on the highway it sits around the 20l fuel used over a tank is always with in a couple of liters either way, so trip comp is accurate

would some one be able to have a look over, im not sure the WBo2 formula is 100%
