Of course, just that it may not be 10deg total was what I was driving at, though my repsonses sometimes lack the finer points / meaning or intention of my post, although I cant ever imagine that little timing working on an alky motor.
Might also be the reason for the funky VE tables.
Though flat timing doesn't surprise me, akin to locking a dissy on a petrol motor.
Something I would imagine in this scenario, if the cam was too small for the comp, and retarded a bunch.
So for now I guess i'm going to have to ask the engine builder about timing reference.

Maybe I'm missing something, but at what point are you determining it has a max of 10deg timing, just took a quick look at the alky bin vs the std 1.11 and looked ok to me.

Ah you mean this, wont that just make the tune act as though it hasn't fully warmed up yet.

Another thing that has me wondering, the removable memcal cover on the end of the ecm has what I would say is a tamper proof sticker, half on the cover, half on the casing, leading me to think this is a controlled class, memcal has a 27c256 soldered in place to accomodate the larger 32kb program.
Wondering how he's going to get by when it's been opened.
And dam the thing's full of mud, even in the memcal.

Yeah I figured the esc meant electronic spark control, from tech days, didn't know the setting meant no spark control until the temp listed.
Having what looks to be a tamper proof sticker on the ecm leads me to think it's a contolled class though, 10deg wouldn't to an alky tune much good, so maybe there is some other factor altering the timing.

Some of these classes do some crazy things, you never know. There are a couple of threads on the forums like this one: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4493

That sticker can be re applied at any meeting. Memcals can be modified so long as you can't adjust during the race. So no NVRAM with bank switching sort of deal and no data logging during a race.

The wingless sprint's are pretty good for the ECU side. Better than other's.
