Map sensors
Map sensors
Hey guys
Was having a look through a racewoks catalogue the other day and noticed they have 2 and 3 bar map sensors.
Just wondering what if anyone here has any feedback/ experience with them ?
Gotta be better than Ebay specials right

Re: Map sensors
I know one person with 2 of these that got thrown in the bin and swapped for ls style they were both bad to the point of rough running and constantly changing engine operation
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Re: Map sensors
99.9999997% of these on the market are pure shit.
As Delco said, best to retrofit a genuine LS style one. which I would only buy from GM direct.

Re: Map sensors
If you wanted this style, this would probably be a safe bet. https://www.haltech.com/product/ht-0101 ... ap-sensor/
I have one my sr20 gemini its its good for 18psi. It looks like they dont have 2 bar, but maybe you could use 3 anyway.
But yeah the ls1 sensor option is a good one, and seems to be simpler these days.

Re: Map sensors
Do LS1 map sensors go into boost? I thought the std one would be only 1 bar. If that's the case which one do you buy.

There is 2 bar versions used on the SC'd LS engines. I don't know the part number though.

Re: Map sensors
I had problems with one of these type 2 bar Map sensors (well it actually came off ebay ) running rough at idle & dying as you tried to get off the line quickly. We ended up wiring in a genuine LS1 2 bar map & I had no further problems.

Re: Map sensors
Here is a GM factory outlet with the part, for sure it will be genuine. I have bought heaps of parts from here and never really had issues.
