11p transmission 4l60e holding gears

Post by vp304 »

Quick run down on my car
Was stock as a rock 3.8 vr 95 model ute with 4l60e
Have just done a engine swap to l67
and using same old vr 4l60e (standard stall converter) that was in good working order in car only one week ago before i done engine swap.
Standard 3.08 rear diff

Have fired up on 11p tune see below. Running gm 2 bar map sensor
No check engine light on car runs not bad just needs work on fuel and timing side of tune
When i drive the car on the road it holds the gears 2 long. (in PWR mode a little longer again)
In normal econ mode 1-2nd at light throttle wont change till around 3000rpm or more
In pwr mode prob adds another 500 rpm to that
Same for 2nd to 3rd.

I have looked at the tune. Is it just as simple as lowering the kph values in the 2 tables below ?
Any help will be appreciated thanks

Yes. Drop the KM/h value.

+1
Just make sure the downshifts are still below those new figs. Maybe drop them by the same amount.

Good point that, you need to ensure you have no overlaps or have the speeds to close for upshift and down shift or the gearbox will start shifting every time you give it a little gas or lift your foot.

Another thing to consider is the Force Motor pressure.
Upping it a little may save the band. Extra torque will stress the shift somewhat (1-2).
A little extra in most other places won't hurt either.

I played around with it for a bit today on the road. But Dam the up shift and down shift is gonna need a lot of work.
Does anyone have some good maps data I could use for a standard 4l60e
3.08 diff car?

Can you describe what it's doing
Post the revised shift speeds
When I did mine it was straightforward
This is V8, but should help...

I would copy the shift tables for The1's supercharged enhanced tunes.

Do you have a stock or modified throttlebody?

If you’re having problems with shift speeds first thing to do is get a good log.
Standard parameters should work fine, if not and holding gears to long I would suspect a TPS fault.
TPS is used for shift speeds vs throttle position, more importantly is also used fo4 line pressure. If it’s not reading correctly your next post will be for a blown or slipping transmission.

Standard throttle body.
I pulled the complete motor from a driving vt L67 Calais and it drove shifted perfect. Throttle body is standard.
Tps looks like its working ok. When accelerating from a stop at normal pace Tps was going up to around 25% while accelerating
