Interesting, did the converter bolt straight up or did you have to re-drill? The stock L67 converter is larger than normal V6 and has a larger bolt pattern to suit.
The later VR 4l60e transmissions would be the 13 pin which is the extra wire for the PWM for TCC lockup.

quipt4it thats what i think its called i read it somewere. Does something have to be changed on my tune to activate it so the tcc will work like standard ?
quipt4it say for example im using ur map im in 4th gear doing 62kph i will need more than 50% tps for it to kick down to 3rd ?
Bolted straight up immortality.

On that table you would need around 50 percent throttle to shift down to 3rd yes
Don't forget, I haven't changed that 3-4 4-3 table
If you have a 13 pin plug or 'later' 95 trans. it should have the feature.

Basically, yes. Will need over 50% TPS before kickdown.
I'd suggest going to the L67 shift tables, the L67 stays in 3rd a lot longer. The ecotec and L67 have a different torque curve to the older 3800 V6, a stock L67 is just a low compression ecotec when it is off boost which is why they have a different converter.

If you like I can send you my bin.
I have many tweaks you might find interesting
Can also help with your 3-4

Re: 11p transmission 4l60e holding gears
Immortality i understand were your coming from with the older 3800 to l67 torque power differences etc.
The old 3800 is all over by 3000 rpm.
quipt4it trying to keep the trans as close to stock shifting up down as possible as its a daily drive workhorse that i use to tow a trailer here and there etc etc
Trying to avoid a race tune lolll
Can the pwm feature be turned on in 11p somewhere so my tcc works ?

If the trans matches the PCM it should work. What is the trans code (on the left top front of box).
If all correct, solenoid may be bad.

Re: 11p transmission 4l60e holding gears
Was working 1 week ago before i pulled car of road to do engine swap.
Cant read code ontop of box as sticker is all worn smudged from grease and oil
i think should be this
VR II 1995 - 5HDD/V6 - 5HBD/V8 extra solenoid fitted to provide softer "LOCK UP" torque converter clutch apply.
5hdd as car when i bought it was 100% standard down to the original radio the lot.

See picture
im guessing the tcc-NORM controlled engage thresh in kph
For 4th gear up to say 31% tps should be lower like around 80kph ?
