Try that again, if you haven't already.

I'm almost wondering if it's worth installing an earlier version of Tunerpro RT. In the newer version they have removed support for Windows XP, maybe something else we require was also lost in the transition to the newer version.

I've suggested OP uses his earlier Windows machine. He may chime in here, but he says he will look into it. :D
Who knows, it might point up a compatability issue?

I tried that last night, as in there's no new update.
I don't understand , if some one has used the standard factory memcal to connect to in the past, shouldn't it be the same settings? If so, what are those settings..

There doesn't seem to be alot of software support.
Although there is people providing support

At work today, if I find time tonight I may have a machine with early windows on it. Or I'll install it.

I have successfully connected to VR before with the settings mentioned in the earlier PDF I linked.

Process is straight forward.

Install tunerpro.
Install com port driver
Load .bin .xdf .adx
Adjust preferences (com port 3)
Connect cable, turn on ignition and hit connect.

The fact that it has connected (blue DA connected box at the bottom of the screen) indicates that well, it was connected but there is something else going on here. There have been other recent threads about Tunerpro and new Windows versions not working/not been compatible. I think this may be where the issue lies.

I haven't updated Tunerpro to the latest version but unfortunately don't have a cable handy to test functionality. I do however have a mate with a VR who is datalogging using the cable and tunerpro.

What windows am I best to install, as win XP isn't supported correct?

I have to plug in to the car port to check the com3 settings in device manager

I'm a big fan of Windows 7.
8 is a dead loss.
You should be able to check port without any connection.
