Tuning for E10 ?

Tuning for E10 ?
Anybody tuned specifically for E10 fuel?
My local Gull has E10 98 35c a liter cheaper than 98 at local Mobil and BP servo's (last week it was 40 cents cheaper), so I thought I'd give the stuff a try.
After a 2 full tanks and the fuel trims had done their thing you could see the drop in economy so I started playing with the tune. Now either E10 likes more timing or I've been rather conservative on regular 98? What are other peoples experience with E10?

VX Calais L67 running about 12psi of boost.

I’d be very reluctant to put ethanol in a car that wasn’t designed for it.
The damage it does to all the metal components of the fuel system (fuel rail, regulator, etc) is intense. Ethanol is hygroscopic which is also an issue.
I’ve had to repair too many cars with ethanol damage.

10% is very minor though isn't it?

Any amount of ethanol can be bad.
VE Commodore was the first ethanol suitable vehicle that Holden produced.
For your own sake, get some E10 in a container and put some spare metal parts in it for a period of time and see for yourself. It'd be a great post if you did.

Interesting. I always thought rubber was the main issue with ethanol fuels. If I remember next time I fill up I'll take a little container with and see what it does.

Vlad might chime in with his experience with rubber and ethanol but from what I understand is that it's only the submerged rubbers (hoses) that are an issue (inside the tank) they turn to a jelly like substance and from memory they will return to a normal state once left in open air!

^ That's correct, all other rubbers are fine though.

As for fuel economy. Consumption will increase by about 5%. So if you are getting for eg. 9.5L/100 then it will be about 10L/100. Fuck all difference really.
