Going to have potentially two different cable types.
Option 1: Completely custom device with VPW, HS CAN and GMLAN.
Option 2: Modified ELM with VPW and GMLAN. (Primarily made for GMLAN)

The whole reason for this development is to bring a diagnostic tool to the VE commodores. Most of the VE modules communicate over GMLAN. So either the existing elm needs to be modified, or a completely new cable must be made.

Pricing and availability is yet to be determined for both options.
Option 1 will take a HUGE amount of work to make up each cable. Option two should hopefully be easier and quicker to get access to ve cluster, bcm, abs, srs, ect.

It has been confirmed, SOE supports LS2 ecus! This includes the VZ and VE V8 ecus (E38, E40).

I checked my current stock of ELMs. And ALL of them are completely sealed. No screws on the top to take out. Plastic along the edges has been heated to seal. And the hole have been aradited along the sides.
I contacted the supplier to ask why this has been done. Apparently people have been purchasing in large bulk, opening them up, taking off the chips and sending them back claiming they dont work.

Soooo, second option is going to require new ELM cases.. since opening them up literally required cutting through with a dremel!

ahahahaha that does not sound like a likely story! Whats the bet their production house was leaving chips out or they were broken in other ways and when returned under warranty the production house claimed they were tampered with to cover their own butts. I know the build quality inside my latest was horrific. The BT chips were so not straight that the solder did not even contact where it needed too. DOA. But im not claiming they came from the same source as yours.

Hahahahahahahahaha. I reckon that could true. Fab house may has screwed up once upon a time. Things happen!

All my units are tested at the warehouse, and again once they get here. No dramas so far! Time consuming but always best to double check. Is going to be interesting working out how to test out the GMLAN once I get it going. Will need some modules wired up and ready to test.

The one and only bluetooth unit I picked up.. was chucked into the bin a few days later. I suckered into getting an ebay special bluetooth unit (Yes.. I did do that..). And couldnt keep the connection with the laptop. I dont think Iv ever been so frustrated with something.. I even sat the laptop directly on the stupid thing and still would cut out! Ill be spewing if I ever attempt to make an iphone/android app using a bluetooth device.

Woah, Im getting questions coming out the wooohaaa about the cables being used on VE's!

First up, the ELM's I use work perfectly fine on VE commodores for ENGINE/ECU diagnostics (Engine fault codes and Engine data!). The ECU uses standard CAN. No mods needed!.

These cables Im looking into are to start diagnosing/reprogramming/monitoring other parts in the car including cluster, srs, hvac, radio, bcm ect. Theres a huge list of components to communicate with, so this should hopefully help anyone with other failing components.

VZ V6 Transmission module now on bench (T43.. if Im not mistaken?)

Can anyone let me know what other models use the same as the VZ V6? Or what the name of the name of the TCM's for each model are? (Eg T42,T43 ect).

Can hopefully start pulling some transmission information. Im unsure if my LS1 ecu on bench is a manual or auto.. cant remember. Will do that also if there is a transmission section.

I tuned an auto in a mates VE SS and it was a T43. LS1s dont have a stand alone auto computer, and Im not sure what the T42 is for... maybe thats the VZ V6 one? Its possible VZ and VE have the same.
