Im pretty keen on moving to this new 3rd party GUI company to make the gauges, charts, graphs ect. Heres a sample gauge that they display. Literally everything there can be modified.. so some snazzle gauges should be easily achieved! As well as making it alot easier to shrink/expand gauge size as well as its movement around the display area.

The only gauge I will keep that is my own will be the rev gauge as there is no dropin substitute for that one.. which I do like alot!

My only downfall with this upgrade.. is itll drastically add to the application size (by a few megabytes!). But.. shouldnt matter as the installer compress the program for the downloads 8-)

The next best thing about the GUIs, is the 2d charts allow for 'hot tracking' so you can easily identify the value along the graph at any point in time! :o I know I was impressed with that as an 'out of the box' feature.

Snug as a bug in a rug
(Excuse the shanks into the case on the bottom... it was an effort to open up a sealed case)

Well, fingers crossed it all solders up fine.

The ELM dropin boards also arrived so they will give access to gmlan, but will remove the standard CAN capabilities. So the modifid boards will only be suitable for diagnosing VE's (Or VF's eventually) for all other modules except ECU.

Ahh cool!
My only problem will be working out what each fault code means. I can emulate data to the tech2. But.. its a slow process. Might see if I cant grab the info directly from the Holden cartridge or rig up something to take a quick snapshot of the screen after each attempt and let it run its course!

Fits well, nice work! USB for the STN1170 IC or going to use an Arduino for that?

Both

Hoping that I could make a usb version for the PC's. And if I wanted to use it for some custom applications (emulate CAN traffic) I can hook the arduino onto it. :D

The positioning of the parts isnt neat, but it was the shorted route for everything to run. And the only configuration I could get to fit on one side. Dual sided was simply not working out at all!

Having issues with a VE V6 - getting "engine misfire detected" error P0300-00. I got a mate to scan the error for me, I've had the coil changed and need to clear the code - does this software help clear it?

Gday Moey,

Generally speaking, the fault code will immediately disappear once it has been repaired. If I try and clear a fault that is "current", it will immediately return. But it will clear any old history fault codes happily as they are old faults.

But yes you can use SOE to read current and history fault codes. As well as attempt to clear fault codes just like a factory scantool does.
