Dead Wideband?

Post by Dylan »

I started tuning mates car today V6 running on methanol.
Long story but i have a log to post up later.

I set the AFR tables to suit methanol injector rate to suit Deka 60's.
Calibrated my 14point7.com wideband by their power up sequence.

Then i left it powered up on the ground not in the exhaust stream for about 15 minute's and it was red hot!
Now it stays on straight lean no movement. Either the engine is super lean but i upped the VE and no movement on the display or i killed the sensor.

It was to hot to touch just from its own heater.

Anyone got any experience in pre heating these sensors to long?

I would tune methanol in Lambda. Maybe something is wacked out in the conversion?

Im on my phone at the moment but there's a log on my laptop to post up.
I used the 12P112 Methanol ADX. And set the 0v and 5v scalers.

Hopefully the log and bin will help when i post them. I noticed that even when the engine was warm that it was commanding around 11:1 with engine off. But all AFR tables are set for Methanol. Around 5:1.

post your bin up as well, i'll have a look see if you've missed something .... have you adjusted the analog input of the wideband to input methanol values into the computer ?

the wideband input in the ADX is set to 9 for its leanest reading .... if its not showing that up and its running then I am going to say its not the tune its the sensor .. I doubt very much you'll get it to run with 9:1 afr on methanol :P

yeah they glow red when operating. doubt that would kill it as i ran mine outside of the engine for some time playing with it.

I left mine on all night and flattened the battery and it did no harm.

I will find it it's on their somewhere. I didn't have the base one you sent me to try.
I did my own one while looking at yours for practice. Hopefully i missed something.

Warm engine commanding 13:1 but AFR table set to methanol values.
