FOXWELL NT510 Multi System Scanner

Post by holden90 »

Team,

I just bought the above mentioned scan tool as it was recommended to me and i was told it will work with my 98 VT V6 s/c Calais.
Alas no, it appears the current software does not contain the language / code required. of course I emailed the company and complained and they are working on a software update. however it did connect to a 06 ute so I believe the tool and cable are in working order.
My question to the community is... is anyone able to have a look at the software i have and see if they can tweek it to work on VT V6?

I may be wrong, it was so long ago now, but the site says VT V6 but the scanner looks OBD2 and Holdens didn't go OBD2 until the Gen3 in 2000 (VT series 2). If that's the case it wont work on an OBD1.5 (a mishmass system from GM) and you'd be better off getting Tazzi's software and a laptop for your VT.

I had a bit of a look. There are references to ALDL in there but very small to no chance of modifying it.

Cheers all for the advice... will be interesting to see if the manufacturer can write something to work for this tool. I will keep the boards up to date ref the progress.
On another note... how to clear the airbag light on my dash? Other than paying Holden $50 to clear it.... bloody pre tensioner wire came off....

See this thread http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... &start=130

You'll need an aldl cable and the delco flash tool to send the command.

Well it turns out Foxwell have updated the software (V8.20) for this tool and I have had success using it on VT and VY.
Just cleared the SRS fault which is why I bought it in the first place so am happy about that... also played with a few other features and did an injector (power) balance
I see the price of the unit has gone up by $95 since I bought mine... probably cause it works on early Holden now so they must be expecting a few more sales.
Cheers for the advise and if anyone is in Plamy North (NZ) and wants to have a play, send me a msg.
