Thanks for all the updates!!! I have the same issue disconnecting, need to close the program and restart it.. Normally when using it with tech2win,gds2, or gm sps the MDI stops flashing when it's done, with this program it keeps flashing so something is a little glitchy with that, but I am NOT complaining!!!

I will try to give it some more of a workout this weekend given enough spare time..

Oh, 1 thing to mention to Antus, do you have any resistors added to the can circuits? In the vehicle there are 2 120 ohm resistors added to the end of the circuits.. I just added one across the legs coming out of the ECM, not sure if that might be why your having connection issues?? I do know in car when one end is disconnected it makes all the data very glitchy with the scan tool..

Um... I just tried to get 005 version just so I have it, where'd it go??? No download link at all? or am I just having vision problems...

The vision problems has been on my side :D

Fixed the link and the pictures in the first post :)

Ok, so lets try if disconnecting is better with that release or what the error is.

Thanks for fixing the link.. Don't have an E38 on the bench at home(yet) but trying the MDI with another spare ecu I have(12611549) and it still doesn't disconnect correctly.. In fact, even with just the MDI connected I click init and select the MDI and then click disconnect and the MDI is still connected.. Not a huge deal, I'll gladly live with it, lol.. I'm sure it might be bugging you a little bit though.. Nothing in the log screen, anything I can do from my end to help?

initialising Tool J2534 PassThru
Bosch - MDI...
ok.
disconnect all tools...done.

Still connects and reads fine, but this error on disconnect:

Code: Select all

upload progress: 94% (0x1E0000)
upload progress: 97% (0x1F0000)
upload progress: 100% (0x200000)
done.
validating upload...ok, valid.
disconnecting...stop periodic CAN NOT ok: 13

Ok, is see the problem.

The Volvo Dice will just stop all periodic messages with an empty parameter.
The MDI not, it seems to need the Address of the periodic message (0x7DF - Tester Present).

That can be fixed easily, but tomorrow :)
It is 1am here...

Thanks for fast testing you both.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!

ok.. I got it.. lmao..

still can't seem to fix my brick.. somehow I wrote to the section before 0x10000 and screwed up the seed/key and I cannot seem to undo it..

I'm good like that, I can break stuff that doesn't need to be broken.. but it's always a learning experience.. lol.. I do have another E38 to put on the bench if all else fails.. Not giving up though..

My pops used to say "If you haven't broken anything then you haven't done anything."

So you must be doing something ...

Awesome work on your PowerPCM Flasher daniel2345, awesome!
