The ECU you have is now linked to a PIM but will run the car with another PIM not linked to it??

Have you just solved the immobiliser off issue?!?
Not quite, this ECM is linked to a reset PIM (just tried with other reset PIMs even with the correct VIN and it's a no go)
Had to BCM to PIM/ECM link it.

This ECU can no longer be reset.
This ECU cannot be linked to a new PIM.
This ECU just doesn't care if it's pim is in a reset state or linked (there's just to many different link options in different module meanus)

The car will start if I remove the PIM but only for a few minutes with the key.

Minutes or moments?

If VATS was killing it, it would surely be moments?

Sounds like it's vats off but without the pim it's stopping the key from cranking the car over if that's the case and it cranks vi's bringing the start relay I would say he maybe did just find the solution to not being able to remove vats by accident haha

Yeah it's not vats, it runs for sometime, not a short second like immob.

It'll respond to key start for a few mins, then won't crank.
Can start, run, stop then start it again.

Vats kicks in if i plug another blank pim in.

Will try bridging the start relay tomorrow.

I wonder if it's loosing fuel pump too hence why it's running for a short while?

interesting.

I can add it to the program, we can program an ecu with a pin without having a PIM attached.

So if im reading correctly the ecu is now programmed with 0000? as in 0x00.

Correct, It's now stuck on 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 with no way to rectify, guessing it's going to be a hardware level fix.
It linked to this pim eprom
