Just different excel file versions, the data is the same in both files ??

J2534 is basically a standardized DLL format so any software can utilize the same commands in any J2534 compliant tool.

Realistically, a J2534 DLL could be written for any tool. Even the dreaded ELMs (cringes at the thought).

But there is a reason why that doesnt exist for the ELMs, becuase they are lacking the capability to deal with multi frame responses, are slow and never intended to be used for such complex operations.

Interesting to hear they were trying to implement both an ELM protocol and also J2534 on the same tool, this is the first time I have ever heard of a company doing this other then Pete and I with the OBDX.

Yes, just early and late excel. I posted both since I have older lappys and some still use office '97. :ugeek: I thought it would be nice to post both depending on which version people have.

Yes, Tazzi, I understand ... Thank you!
I was surprised they are both (J2534/ELM) done in the same firmware, I expected two circuits.

In-Tech, Yes, I use 97 as well so thank you for the .xls, you can just pass the .xls considering Excel is backwards compatible and can open an older file.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!

I think this device may have J1850VPW in the firmware, just not exposed.
Not entirely confident on that yet ...

Been :study: on J2534 and doing a bit of :comp: and the results are ...

BTW, Anyone have a searchable J2534 standard other then the DrewTech one, the full SAE one I have is a scan and cannot be searched.

No clue, this device has always shown high, looking back in this thread I see 20.6 ... The SparkFun board (STN1110) reports v13.6.
